Colourful mushroom

This picture was taken in a forest in the mountains Chartreuse, during a walk in Spring.

Fomitopsis pinicola is the scientific name of this mushroom, I believe.

I have not been able to resit and I left the footpath to observe
this colourful mushroom and to take a few pictures.

Anne-Laure a dit…: I'm a big big fan of mushrooms -which I used to pick up in the woods in Norway when I was a kid- but I wouldn't eat those ones for God's sake!!! They do look beautiful, though...; 12 juin, 2011 15:22
