Brittany (1)

Brittany (Bretagne in french) is the place of France where I was born.

I know, I often show pictures of mountains....but I do come from the seaside !

Brittany is located on the north west of France, not far from Great Britain,

and facing the Newfoundland island on the other side of the Atlantic ocean.

Atlantic ocean, the Channel and Iroise seas are the natural borders of Brittany.

That is probably why people from Brittany have all a tight relationship with the sea.

The Great Sure

La Grande Sure or "The Great Sure" is a summit in Chartreuse mountains,

just below 2000m (precisely 1920m of altitude).

My house is facing the north west face of the Great Sure, the view could be worse !

Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, the landscape is magnificent.

Colourful mushroom

This picture was taken in a forest in the mountains Chartreuse, during a walk in Spring.

Fomitopsis pinicola is the scientific name of this mushroom, I believe.

I have not been able to resit and I left the footpath to observe
this colourful mushroom and to take a few pictures.
